Environment and Planning Insights

23 July 2007

Welcome to the July edition of Clayton Utz Environment and Planning Insights, in which we'll look at a sometimes overlooked issue in climate change: how do you get accurate data on emissions without unnecessarily burdening business?

We'll also look at how the new smoking bans in Victoria and New South Wales have thrown up some new planning issues, and two mining issues:

  • how Queensland is giving greater protection to mining activities, and
  • the uncertain future for mining in WA's Mid-West region.
