Welcome to a special WA-only edition of Energy & Resources Insights, in which we'll look at two recent developments with significant implications for the resources sector in our State.

First, we'll examine the changes to planning and approvals processes for the mining and petroleum sectors recommended by the "Industry Working Group Report - Review of Approval Processes in Western Australia". This report was commissioned by the Minister for Mines, the Honourable Norman Moore, and is now being considered by the Premier's Ministerial Taskforce. If the Government accepts its recommendations, what will it mean for mining and petroleum?

We also see how the Government will regulate uranium mining, now that the ban has been lifted, from the initial decision to mine through to sale and export.
