10 December 2009
Welcome to the December edition of CU link.
In this edition we talk to one of our Alumni, Michael Coates, about what he's been up to since leaving Clayton Utz and his challenging role as Senior Legal Counsel in The Hague.
Since our last edition a lot has been happening at CU so we highlight some of the significant deals the firm has been working on and other interesting milestones, such as being named joint winner of the Best Australian Law Firm of the Year and becoming a founding member of the Australian Indigenous Minority Supplier Council.
In our regular features we keep you up-to-date on recent appointments and international conferences and overseas trips where you can catch up with our partners.
Finally, the partners and staff would like to wish you and your families a happy festive season and look forward to reconnecting with you in 2010.
Michael Coates worked in the Sydney office of Clayton Utz from early 1997 to late 2000 (as a paralegal, summer clerk and then solicitor) before relocating to Europe. During his time at the firm, Michael worked in a number of practice areas including Construction, Banking and Finance and Workplace Relations. Michael is currently a Senior Legal Counsel at Royal Dutch Shell, based in The Netherlands.
Over the next few months Clayton Utz partners and lawyers will attend a range of conferences and professional networking events in various countries around the world.
