Clayton Utz welcomes Lex Mundi to Australia

Key Points:

From 26-28 March our Sydney office hosted the 2009 Lex Mundi Asia Pacific Regional Conference – with lawyers from 33 Lex Mundi member firms as well as corporate counsel from around the region coming together to discuss legal practice developments and current issues facing the profession.

Lex Mundi is a global network of 160 independent law firms committed to the provision of quality legal services and superior client service. Clayton Utz is the exclusive Lex Mundi member firm for Australia.

CU partner and Lex Mundi board director Simon Truskett said the conference was a valuable forum for members of the legal profession to network, share knowledge and insights as well as discuss the new challenges they faced in legal practice.

"This year more than ever, the conference was an important opportunity for lawyers from around the region to come together and hear how their colleagues are responding to the challenges of the new global economy," he said.

"The conference delegates from the Lex Mundi member firms were all very complimentary in relation to the conference, including the high calibre of the business programs and the speakers that we organised."

Following the conference, pro bono partner David Hillard, who spoke at the event, received an email from Lex Mundi president Carl Anduri complimenting him on his "exceptional presentation".

"You and the firm should be very proud of what you have accomplished and continue to accomplish. As I mentioned, I think it is very useful for our non-U.S. member firms to hear from another non-U.S. firm that is a pro bono leader, " Mr Anduri wrote.
