CU link Newsletter

04 October 2007

Welcome to our latest edition of CU link, our newsletter linking former Clayton Utz people across Australia and the globe. As you'll see, the last few months have been busy for us; we've had an outstanding year in M&A, built our team, and shown ourselves to be some of the fastest lawyers on snow and water.

We'll also learn about some of the exciting contacts we're developing with our Asian neighbours, particularly our role in helping Vietnam deal with the legal challenges of its transition to a market economy.

Finally, if you'd like to keep track of opportunities for your return, or to refer friends and colleagues to us, we now have a web-based recruitment tool.

M&A team shows its strength

A strategic investment in our people and client relationships has contributed to Clayton Utz’ outstanding year in M&A, which also saw us achieve a leading position in the most recent Thomson Financial Australian M&A league tables.

CU faces

At Clayton Utz, we are continually building on our reputation as a top-tier firm with the leading experts in our areas of focus. We continue to attract top-flight lawyers to the practice, reflecting our reputation for excellence and client focus.

Senior associate sets herself a new legal challenge

Clayton Utz Litigation and Dispute Resolution senior associate Tara Eaton has traded in the fast-paced life of corporate Sydney for a career experience with a difference – and a chance to play a part in Vietnam's legal history.

Japan in focus

Central to Clayton Utz’ international strategy is forging partnerships with countries which have strong ties to Australia. Japan is no exception and a specialised team from our Brisbane office have been working with a number of Japanese companies, helping to advance their Australian business interests.

CU around the world

Over the next few months Clayton Utz partners and lawyers will attend a range of conferences and professional networking events in various countries.

CU People and Places

The Clayton Utz Alumni program CU link is now officially underway with the program's first three events having taken place. Also, Clayton Utz continues to be involved in a number of inter law firm sporting competitions.
