Brian Salter receives Distinguished Service Award

Clayton Utz Banking and Financial Services Partner Brian Salter was recently awarded an inaugural Distinguished Service Award by the Australian Securitisation Forum. The awards have been given to members of the securitisation industry for their outstanding contribution to that industry.

Brian was invited to be a founding member of the ASF in 1989. While on the National Committee for 15 years until 2004, he was Chairman for four years and Chair of the Regulatory Committee since its inception in the early 1990s. Brian has lectured extensively in the ASF's securitisation series and has been the advising solicitor to the ASF, responsible for its constitution, taxation status and other regulatory matters. Brian has worked on many ASF submissions to various areas of government including to Treasury, the ATO, the State Revenue authorities, ASIC and APRA.

Brian remains a part-time lecturer in securitisation for both the ASF and Sydney University Law School's Masters of Law programme, as well as assisting Clayton Utz run an Advanced Debt Capital Markets Law course for the University of NSW Masters of Law programme.

Clayton Utz congratulates Brian and the other recipients of the Distinguished Service Award, Vernon Spencer of Stargate Corporation Pty Ltd, Tony Gill of Macquarie Bank Limited and Nancy Fox of Ambac Assurance Corporation. Notably, Brian was the only adviser to receive this award.
