Profile - Mark Sneddon

Key Points:

Mark Sneddon is an expert in retail banking and regulated financial services law and has written and taught in this area for over 17 years. He has advised a range of Australian and international financial institutions on general banking law, cheques and electronic payment systems (including APCA clearing rules) and drafted contracts for UCCC regulated loans and terms and conditions and PDS for a range of banking products and services taking account of applicable regulations.

Mark has advised on all relevant regulation including FSR, FTRA, Proceeds of Crime and money laundering and terrorism financing laws, Code of Banking Practice, EFT Code of Conduct, UCCC and Payments System (Regulation) Act. Mark was the drafter of ASIC's revised EFT Code of Conduct. Mark has also advised Westpac on the handling of customer complaints, drawing on his earlier work for the Banking Ombudsman.

As featured in this month's Banking and Financial Services Insights, Mark was recently appointed to the Commonwealth Consumer Affairs Advisory Council.
