Profile - Dan Fitts

Key Points:

Dan Fitts, from our Melbourne office, was recently made a Partner in the Projects and Debt Finance group. He specialises in project finance, infrastructure and syndicated lending. He has played a leading role in the negotiation and documentation of major privately financed projects in Australia and internationally, including advising on the financing aspects of toll road, power and other infrastructure projects.

Dan is currently lead adviser to Hydro Tasmania on the $750m Basslink interconnector project and last year advised N M Rothschild in relation to the privately financed Swinburne University Redevelopment. He continues to advise VicRoads on behalf of the State in relation to the City Link project, and was recently part of the team advising the Victorian State Government in relation to the A$2.5 billion Mitcham-Frankston Freeway Project. Dan also has a strong background in the power industry and is currently acting in relation to the project financing of several windfarms. In addition to his projects work, Dan regularly advises banks and borrowers on syndicated and structured finance transactions.

Dan spent two years on secondment to the London firm, Allen & Overy, widely regarded as one of the premier project finance legal practices in Europe. Whilst in London, Dan worked primarily in the areas of project finance and international structured finance.
