Brian is a Partner in our Banking & Financial Services Department at Clayton Utz, and widely regarded as Australia's most senior and experienced securitisation lawyer.
He has particular expertise in securitisation and the capital markets, with over 14 years' full-time experience in these fields, and developed many of the legal structures currently used by the securitisation industry, including those for mortgage-backed conduits, asset-backed conduits and bank securitisation programmes.
Brian also has had wide international experience, particularly in the European, Asian and US debt capital markets. His career also extends to the "plain vanilla" bond market.
Brian teaches a course in Advanced Debt Capital Markets as part of the University of New South Wales Master of Laws program. This is the first specialist debt capital markets law course in Australia and was developed in conjunction with Clayton Utz.
He is also a member of the Editorial Board of the Journal of Banking and Finance Law and Practice, an adviser to the International Financial Law Review, and a founding member, and former chairman, of the Australian Securitisation Forum, the peak body representing the securitisation industry in Australia.
