Sydney, 7 December 2009: Clayton Utz is proud to have advised the Australia Government on its agreement (announced 4 December 2009) with NextGen Networks to construct new broadband backbone infrastructure under the $250 million Regional Backbone Blackspots Program.
The Regional Backbone Blackspots Program is a significant initiative in achieving the implementation of the Government's National Broadband Network (NBN) policy and in delivering high-speed broadband services to regional Australia.
Commenting on the announcement, Caroline Lovell, Co-Head of Telecommunications, Media and Technology at Clayton Utz, said: "the signing with NextGen is an important step in the Government's NBN plans, to which the industry has reacted very positively. We are delighted to have advised on this landmark program."
