Canberra, 6 November 2008: Clayton Utz Canberra Managing Partner Alfonso del Rio continues to consolidate his reputation as Canberra's leading real estate lawyer, being named Solicitor of the Year at the 2008 Real Estate Institute of the ACT Awards for Excellence, for the third year running.
Mr del Rio was also the recipient of the Solicitor of the Year award in 2002, 2003, 2006 and 2007 and the Real Estate Institute's President's Award in 2007.
The Awards aim to encourage, recognise and promote excellence and best practice in the real estate profession.
In accepting the Award, Mr del Rio paid tribute to his colleagues and thanked them for their support.
"Awards are really a reflection of the quality of people that you have around you. I feel very privileged to work in an environment where there are so many enthusiastic and talented people dedicated to serving client needs and expectations," Mr del Rio said.
"I don't see the Award as belonging to me but to this office as a whole."
The REIACT Awards cap off another busy year for Mr del Rio and the Canberra Real Estate Group of Clayton Utz, which has been involved in some of the ACT's biggest property deals including the redevelopment of the New Acton precinct, the new headquarters for the Department of Education, Employment and Workplace Relations in Civic as well as a significant office development for Department of Health and Ageing in Woden.
