Clayton Utz lawyer recognised for pro bono contribution

Brisbane, 24 September 2008: Clayton Utz senior associate Samantha Lentell has been awarded the Queensland Emergent Woman Lawyer of the Year Award for 2007/2008 by the Women Lawyers Association of Queensland Inc.

Announced at a gala dinner at the Marriott Hotel in Brisbane earlier this month, the Award recognises, encourages and supports the endeavours and contributions of women practitioners in Queensland with five years or less of post admission experience.

Samantha was nominated for her contribution to the legal profession and her personal career achievements including her recent appointment as senior associate at Clayton Utz and her significant contribution not only to the firm's pro bono program but to pro bono legal services generally in Queensland.

One of three finalists for the Award, Samantha was supported on the evening by her supervising partner and Brisbane pro bono partner Randal Dennings and several of her colleagues.

"The Award not only provides a well-deserved accolade for Sam, but also attests to the significance of the pro bono work coordinated by Sam in the Brisbane office," said Randal.
