Clayton Utz a winner at Australasian Law Awards

Sydney 25 May 2007: Clayton Utz' reputation as the leading legal adviser on some of Australia's most complex and significant deals was confirmed at the 2007 ALB Australasian Law Awards held recently in Sydney.

Now in their third year, the Awards recognise and celebrate the country's top legal work across a range of practice areas.

Clayton Utz was recognised with four 'Deal of the Year' awards for its work on the following transactions:

Commercial Property & Construction Deal of the Year:

Brisbane North South Bypass Tunnel Project

The NSBT marks the first time a local authority has undertaken a project of this nature in partnership with the private sector in Australia.

Securitisation Deal of the Year:

CBA Hybrid Securities Issue

This was the first embedded value securitisation in Australia and one of the first funds management securitisations in the world.

Project Finance Deal of the Year:

RailCorp Rollingstock PPP Project

The deal represents the largest single order for new passenger trains and the largest privately financed PPP ever undertaken in Australia.

M&A Deal of the Year:

Toll Holdings - Patrick Corp

This was the largest completed takeover deal of 2006. Clayton Utz was instrumental in securing regulatory compliance for the transaction.
