The new Australian Standard on Compliance Programs AS3806 was released today.
What this means to you is...
- this new standard will be the new benchmark for compliance
- regulators (such as ASIC and the ACCC) will be looking to the new standard for guidelines to determine whether compliance programs are effective
- organisations will need to review their existing compliance structures to see how they meet the new standard and identify whether there are any gaps to be remedied.
Clayton Utz' response
Clayton Utz has been intimately involved in the standards review process and is currently working with a number of clients to assist them in transitioning to the new standard.
We have prepared a new standard checklist that identifies steps that you can take now.
Once the new standard is released Clayton Utz will:
- conduct informal briefing sessions in Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane
- issue a briefing paper on the new standard
- run workshops on what you need to do to meet the new standards.
