Background
Murray West is a member of the firm's national Major Projects Group and specialises in infrastructure, Government work and banking and finance. Over the last 20 years Murray has acted for a range of both public and private sector clients, including government authorities, debt financiers, developers, private sponsors, borrowers, construction companies, and operators. Murray also acts for a number of clients in the Asia Pacific region.
Murray's expertise includes providing legal, commercial and strategic advice, project structuring and restructuring advice, risk analysis and risk allocation and mitigation strategies, and tender processes. He has also advised on legislative frameworks and regulatory issues, as well as advising on and negotiating complex concession and project agreements. He has been involved in all matters involving land and rail and road corridors, advice on interfaces issues and the preparation of complex land corridor leasing arrangements.
Murray also has considerable experience relating to capital works and infrastructure upgrade projects and the various contracting strategies and arrangements regarding such works. His experience also extends to reviewing and advising on operation and maintenance contracts.
Murray is also experienced in significant debt financing and equity arrangements for major projects, and is experienced in joint ventures, tax-and stamp-duty effective financing, leasing arrangements and complex loan and security documentation.
