John Loxton is a dedicated stamp duties practitioner, having practised in the area since the 1980s. He is the team leader of our Sydney-based practice but practises Australia-wide. This practice was recognised in Legal Profiles 2001-2002 as "Premier" and "equal highest ranking firm amongst its peers".
John's stamp duty advice work ranges across numerous areas of relevance to the firm's commercial clients, including corporate reorganisation, structured and project finance, securitisation, leasing and asset acquisition and disposal. John is said to "provide detailed advice in an easy to understand format" (Legal Profiles).
John is the principal stamp duty adviser to the Australian Securitisation Forum and has made numerous successful submissions to State Governments on its behalf.
He is also a long-term member of the Law Society of New South Wales/Office of State Revenue Liaison Committee.
John is also highly regarded for his work in asset and other structured finance and motor industry financing. He is a senior member of the Firm's precedents group and also its Personal Property Securities Act working group.
