Before becoming a workplace lawyer, Geoff had many years in practice as a commercial litigator and has trained as a dispute mediator. He has appeared as an advocate in various courts and tribunals including the Queensland Industrial Relations Commission, and has extensive experience in conducting complex litigation in the areas of discrimination, unfair contracts, and unfair dismissal.
Geoff's experience dates back to the initial wave of industrial relations legislation introduced by both the Queensland and Commonwealth governments in the late 1980's. He has advised clients on the numerous changes of legislative regime that have occurred over the past two decades.
Geoff's more recent experience includes provision of advice on numerous employment and industrial relations issues in both jurisdictions, on discrimination, and on workplace health and safety. Apart from handling disputes in all of these areas, he has significant experience in document drafting, including collective and individual agreements and policies.
