
NSW Attorney-General's Department: Advising the Crown Solicitor's Office on the Justice Link project. This is a centralised online case management system that will be used in all NSW courts. Linking all district and local courts and the NSW Police records, the database will feature e-filing, case filing, warrants, and transcript request. The New South Wales Courts system is one of the largest in the world providing an integrated administration covering the Supreme, District and Local Courts as well as the Sheriff's Office.
Large Australian company: Advised this company since 2002 on its whole of IT and telecommunications outsourcing and related arrangements. This included advising on RFTs for the selection of new service providers, advising on arrangements for transition between incumbent and new service providers and advising on and drafting and negotiating its new agreements with the selected outsourcers, in both the IT and telco spheres. Jim has continued to advise on a substantial number of its other IT and telecommunications implementation, development, licence and service arrangements against the background of a stable outsourced environment.
AAPT - Interconnection: Acting for AAPT in relation to all of its interconnection and wholesale capacity arrangements in the Australian market including: PSTN access arrangements with Telstra; wholesale leased capacity arrangements; GSM mobile service provider agreements; CDMA resale; Broadband Network Services Agreement (as a wholesale supplier of DSL services); fibre and microwave transmission capacity with Transgrid; and microwave transmission links.
Rail Corporation NSW: Advised in relation to the outsourcing of certain ICT functions, including providing advice on the tendering process; preparing contracts; negotiations and transitioning in. Jim also advised in relation to its infrastructure needs including replacement of its railway cars. Additionally, Jim advised RailCorp on the escrow arrangements of its New Rollingstock Procurement Project, an extremely complex deal.
Major national energy supplier: Advised a major national energy supplier in relation to the major offshore outsourcing of certain IT services and back office activities and the upgrade of relevant IT systems pursuant to a dual negotiation with potential vendors including a review of all aspects of the transaction.
