Background
Sallyanne Everett is a Partner in our Environment & Planning Group who has over 15 years of experience in planning and environmental law. She is an accredited specialist with the Law Institute of Victoria in Environmental, Planning and Local Government Law.
Sallyanne has considerable experience in advising private and public sector clients on the State and Commonwealth environmental assessment and approvals process for major development and infrastructure projects. This includes projects requiring an Environment Effects Statement, planning scheme amendment and/or permit, EPA works approval and discharge licence and controlled actions requiring approval under the Commonwealth Environment Protection and Biodiversity Conservation Act 1999. She represents clients at Panel hearings and inquiries into the environmental effects of development projects and in review proceedings and planning applications before VCAT.
She also advises corporate clients on environmental issues relevant to commercial property transactions, often working as part of a team of consultants and advisers identifying and quantifying issues and assessing potential risks and exposures. Sallyanne advises on environmental compliance issues including in relation to site contamination, waste generation and disposal, environmental licensing and approvals.
