Background
Over the last 20 years Robert Backstrom has specialised in providing advice to the engineering, development and mining industries. He acts for developers, contractors, subcontractors and consultants on a wide range of mining and construction-related issues and disputes concentrating on large-scale infrastructure and process engineering projects. This varied exposure to the industry allows Robert to anticipate and advise his clients on potential risks before they emerge.
Before joining Clayton Utz, Robert was the partner in charge of Construction and Engineering in the Brisbane office of a national law firm, and has lived and worked in Hong Kong.
