2009 Alumni events
Following the success of our CU Link alumni functions in 2008 we held three CU Link events this year in Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane.
This year we held cheese tasting events in-house and it was good to see familiar faces back in our offices.
Our Melbourne-based alumni enjoyed a fun night of tasting specially matured and ripened cheeses from the world-renowned Richmond Hill Café and Larder.
In Sydney, cheese expert Claudia McIntosh drew on her original and exceptional experiences abroad to lead our alumni through a tasting that represented the seven categories of the cheese world.
Darren Davis, one of Australia's leading young wine figures, took our Brisbane alumni on a journey through boutique handcrafted wines of the Barossa Valley along with some of Australia's farmhouse cheeses.
Thanks to everyone who attended the events, it's always great to catch up with our alumni and we look forward to seeing you next year.
2008 - CU re-connects with Alumni
Our Alumni program CU link has continued to build on its successful launch last year, with four events held in London, Sydney, Brisbane and Melbourne over the last few months.
The London event, hosted at Shoreditch House in East London, was attended by CU Alumni now living and working in London and a number of current CU partners, including David Fagan.
In Sydney, Alumni reunited with old colleagues at the unique NG Art Gallery and Mission Restaurant & Bar, enjoying drinks and canapés while viewing Ann Cape's Presence and Place exhibition. Ann, whose art practice is distinguished and lyrically figurative, also attended the event as a special guest.
Meanwhile, our Melbourne Alumni enjoyed drinks and canapés at the eclectic new bar Penny Blue and in Brisbane, Alumni guests were treated to taste sensations from across the globe.
The CU link program was launched last year to re-connect former CU employees with current partners and staff.
2007 London Event
On 9 May David Fagan hosted the annual alumni cocktail party in London, with over 60 people attending. Former colleagues and old friends joined David and many other Clayton Utz partners for drinks and canapés at The Great Eastern Hotel. Clayton Utz partners Doug Jones, Mary Still, Peter Knight, Dan Fitts, Fred Hawke and Peter Mann were also able to reconnect with old team members now living and working in London.
2007 Sydney and Melbourne Launch Events
With 2007 being the launch year for our new alumni program, CU link, we held special events in Sydney and Melbourne to entertain our alumni. We invited guest speaker Li Cunxin to speak at our lunches and as you'll see in the photos of the Melbourne launch event, the lunches were well attended and well received.
Li Cunxin inspired alumni and partners with his incredible life story, now being made into a major film based on his book: Mao's Last Dancer.
