All across out business, we look at ways to make small changes that can have large impacts.
We want to understand, measure and minimise our environmental impacts as much as possible. To do that, we take a broad view of what we do, from travel, electricity usage, waste, and recycling through to our premises, technology and office furnishings and fittings. Our suppliers are also encouraged to adopt a sustainable approach when working with us, including having no direct impact on biodiversity.
As a result, we became one of the first Australian firms to be carbon neutral from FY16. We keep an eye on this by having our greenhouse gas emissions independently assessed each year, and audited every three years. We then purchase credits to offset the carbon we produce.
Our focus goes beyond our own activities. We're proud to be a signatory of the CitySwitch Path to Net Zero program and a member of the Carbon Market Institute, and a founding member of the Australian Legal Sector Alliance (AusLSA), which works collaboratively to promote sustainable practices across the legal sector. It means we can contribute to the development of guidelines, share our experiences with, and learn from those of, other member firms.
